python-json-patch software package provides library to apply JSON patches - python 2.x transitional package, you can install in your Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install python-json-patch
python-json-patch is installed in your system.
Make ensure the python-json-patch package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep python-json-patch *
You will get with python-json-patch package name, version, architecture and description in a table
